- What to look For -

Remeber: Make their Shack Cozy :)

Chicken Coop Designs are everywhere on the web but few of them are essentially of prime quality or will supply you with the obligatory info for you to build a successful chicken pen in your own yard. More than regularly I have come across designs online that might really hurt your chicken and hens more than it’ll benefit them…

You can simply find free chicken pen designs online but they’re sometimes thrown together by folks who don’t know what they are doing and just need to share their own designs and plans with the world without really giving any though to the well being of the animals or without considering how simple the chicken house is to wash or how good isolation and ventilation the chicken cage has got. The bulk of chicken shack builders only consider the appearance facet of their new chicken shed they intend to build while the things you actually need to think about run alot deeper.

In this post I am going to go thru the some of the most critical considerations when selecting a group of chicken coop designs. These are all things I have been taught or learned during my eight years in poultery and I am hoping you can gain advantage from my experiences : )

Chicken Coop Hazards

In building a chicken coop, there are many things that people do not take into account, and they’re usually things that can end up hurting their chickens in the long run. Believe it or not, there’s much more to establishing a coop than just building it and inserting your chickens, so let’s have a look at the potential dangers in your coop!

Low Ceiling: You might not consider this, but chickens are birds, and just because they do not fly well, doesn’t mean they don’t give it their best shot. Consequently, if you have a low ceiling, the chickens are likely to injure themselves when they try to fly within the coop. If it is abnormally low, there is a chance the chicken will manage to break its neck. This really is not something that you want to see when you come out to feed your chickens in the morning, so remember, if you have to duck while actually walking around in your coop, the ceiling is probably too low, that is something to think about in your Chicken Coop Designs.
